The set-up: Eastern Washington is the Big Sky preseason conference. Each weekend to reduce costs and expenses, each mid major will play each other twice. The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks are 0-3 and they'll be desperate here to avoid their first 0-4 start in three years. Northern Arizona enter off a 91-52 loss to Colorado State. Last season the Eagles were 23-8 and won the Big Sky regular season title with a 16-4 record.

The pick: This year though Easter Washington is 1-4 and iit's coming off an 80-75 loss to Saint Mary's. To say this is a "revenge" scenario as well would be a bit of an understatement, as the Jacks have lost six straight in this series. Eastern Washington is not the same team as it was last year and while the Lumberjacks have plenty of issues themselves, I think these teams are much more evenly matched in this opening game than what this spread would suggest.
