The set-up: Both teams have had several games canceled due to COVID issues this year already. Towson is 1-4. It has a talented back-court though in Zane Martin and Nicholas Timberlake. Clearly the Tigers are going to have their hands full here, but after three straight victories, I think that Iona gets caught flat-footed and complacent here.

The pick: Isaiah Ross and the Gaels are allowing 67.1 PPG. Towson allows 77. On paper, the early numbers favor Iona, but I think that Rick Pitino's team is overvalued here, as its early competition needs to be taken into account. Iona welcomes Niagara for a back-to-back set starting on New Year's Day and I believe it also gets caught looking ahead. In a contest which I believe will be decided late, I'm going to grab the points.
