The set-up: The Devils have a tough schedule, as they have to play almost every other day due to some COVID issues at the start of the season. The Devils are a young team though, which is beneficial considering the circumstances. New Jersey will look to take advantage of a Washington teams which enters off a 4-1 loss to the Rangers.

The pick: Defensive struggles have been the main culprit in the early going for Washington, as it's conceding 3.4 GPG. Washington's offense though is among the league leaders in almost every statistical category. With both teams coming off disappointing offensive performances, I look for each to open things up here and I then expect this total to fly over sooner, rather than later.
