ROGERS' 10* WC FINAL GAME OF THE WEEK!
(NHL) Dallas vs. Vegas,
Money Line: 105.00 Dallas (Away)
Result: Loss
Both the Stars and the Knights mostly defended well against two offensive juggernauts in round 2. Probable starting goaltenders Oettinger (2.44 GA avg. .916 save %) and Hill (.245 GA avg. .917 save %) have comparable records. Oettinger has a 7-2-1 record in his last 10 while Hill is 7-3. So there isn’t much to choose between them beyond Oettinger’s success in last year’s playoffs against Calgary.
The Stars are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings with the Knights. The Stars have a better record on the road than the Knights have at home. When you list all the matchup factors Dallas has the edge in offense, defense, PP, PK, faceoffs and discipline. The only edge for Vegas is in goal during these playoffs but Oettinger last year in the playoffs and all season was far superior to Hill so it is difficult to imagine Hill continuing to carry the day. Hill is seen as large and slow and clearly Coach DeBoer and the Dallas veteran attackers will figure out how to take advantage of this. Pick Dallas as the dog and carry the day.
