Contrary to Tuesday’s surprise result, it is usually no contest with the bats. The Rangers are third in offense, scoring a very healthy average of 6.7 runs per game with an .831 OPS in the last two weeks. The Angels, lacking their three biggest bats, are 27th in OPS, scoring 3.6 runs on average while allowing 5.1 runs over the same time frame. With a pair of starters roughly of equal standing, look for a superior Rangers offense to take advantage of a pretty rough Angels pen that has struggled to a +7.00 ERA in recent weeks. The Angels, just 3-7 in their last 10, won’t win two straight against a resurgent Texas team, just inches away from a post season date. Rangers win.
