Last year Georgia State won this game 42-40 on the road, and that was with no overtime involved. This year I expect another high-scoring game.
Coastal Carolina averaged 40.9 ppg last year and allowed 21.6. They still have one of the nation's top quarterbacks in Grayson McCall, but only three starters back from that defense. McCall will face a Georgia State defense that is 125th in the country, allowing 304 passing yards per game.
As for that Coastal Carolina defense; the schedule has not been strong so far this season but they allowed 28 points to Army, 27 to Gardner-Webb, and 26 to Buffalo. Through those contests, Coastal Carolina's pass defense is also 121st, allowing 289.3, and remember that includes a game played against Army!
In Georgia State's last two games, they lost to North Carolina 35-28 and failed to score in the fourth quarter. Then last Saturday, Georgia State was involved in a 42-41 shootout loss to Charlotte.
The over is 18-5 in Coastal's last 23 games in September, and I expect at least 70 points in this one.
