NY Yankees at Cleveland Guardians
(MLB) NY Yankees vs. Cleveland,
Money Line: -154.00 NY Yankees (Away)
Result: Loss
Cleveland's listed starter Triston McKenzie has posted a 6.44 ERA and allowed 10 home runs over his last five starts and 29 1/3 innings. That's not a good recipe for success going up against a Yankee club that leads MLB in home runs and is averaging 6.8 runs per game in their last 10 road games.
The Yankees will be starting Jordan Montgomery, who is coming off two subpar starts, but both still resulted in Yankee wins. New York has also won Montogomery's last seven starts overall. I like him to bounce back and pitch better here against a Cleveland team that is 28th with a .223 batting average and dead-last in MLB with a .616 OPS when facing southpaws. Cleveland is also averaging just 2.9 runs per game in their last 10 home ball games.
I will take the Yankees here, as they have 5-1 in the last six games when they have been presented with the opportunity to sweep a three-game series.
