The Cougars are playing just six days after their huge Apple Cup win over Washington, so they need to recover quickly and the short week could present challenges, especially when it comes to recovery and game planning. Both teams are 3-0 currently, San Jose State could be a tough opponent, especially with extra time to prepare. San Jose St beat Kennesaw St last week and covered, and beat Air Force the week before that, so they come in here with momentum and Emmett Brown, the quarterback for San Jose State, has been highly effective in the team's revamped offensive scheme this season. He has passed for 895 yards, throwing nine touchdowns with just one interception through the first few games. Brown's impressive performance has helped drive the Spartans' offense, which is heavily reliant on his connection with standout wide receiver Nick Nash. John Mateer has thrown for 712 yards for WSU, and has 335 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns this season, so his mobility is fantastic and helped them win the Apple Cup. I'm rolling with SJSU however as this is a classic letdown spot for the Cougars after the Apple Cup win, and I like the Spartans to hang around.
