Cleveland was glad to get out of San Diego and up I-5 to Anaheim as fast as it could after not only getting swept three by the Padres, but scoring only a combined four runs in those three losses. The Guardian offense has been left mostly standing at the starting gate the first week, with a team OBP of only .295 making things more difficult. Meanwhile, the Halos have started much like they did last year when losing their opener and then finishing a successful road swing, as the Angels have just done on their 4-2 opening road trip. A pair of extra-inning wins highlighted the St Louis series, though the offense has been inconsistent, and Mike Trout (.143 BA) yet to shift gears. Still, Jose Soriano looked superb firing seven shutout innings past the Chisox on Saturday, and a semi-pitching duel between Soriano and capable Gavin Williams wouldn't surprise.
