The Preds might be minus coach Andrew Brunette on Sunday as he tends to family matters, with assistant Todd Richards in charge until Brunette returns. Nashville's recent play is enough on its own to make any coach want to step away, the latest skid at five games with the NHL's lowest-scoring offense (just 191 goals). Only nine goals have been scored across the current five-game skid (four of those in one game vs. the Blue Jackets--an 8-4 loss). Meanwhile the Canadiens have headed in the opposite direction with a late-season spurt that has them firmly into the last East playoff spot as the final week approaches. Wins in four straight, including two over the defending champ Panthers, and allowing just seven goals that span has Montreal flying, though we'll see how rookie GK Jakub Dobes, who has struggled some in recent starts, fares as Sam Montembeault gets a well-deserved break on Sunday.
