Are the Kings up for big efforts two days in a row? We're asking a bit from Sacto 24 hours after pulling a stunner at Cleveland on Sunday, and back on the court tonight at Detroit. What we do like, however, is that the Kings seem to have put the bit between their teeth with these back-to-back wins (a romp at Charlotte before the win vs. the Cavs) as they push to at least qualify for the play-in round in the West. Two more wins secures it, and Sacto would also like to at least get the home-court edge for the 9 vs. 10 game, very likely vs. against Dallas. Zach LaVine seems to be rising to the challenge, scoring 37 at Rocket Arena on Sunday. As for the Pistons, they're safely into the playoff field, motivated only now by finishing fifth (ahead of the Bucks) or sixth, but losses in three of four, albeit vs. tough opposition, suggests Detroit might have subconsciously geared things down in preparation for its return to the playoffs.
