Twins over Royals- After two straight appearances in the 'Fall Classic' and winning the World Series last season the Kansas City Royals have been playing with a hangover the entire season and are now four games under .500. They will start Edinson Volquez (8-10, 5.03 ERA) who has had the best of the Twins in his career going 4-1 with a 2.20 ERA. The problem for the Royals is that Volquez has been very hittable this season allowing 156 hits in only 141 innings going 0-2 with an 8.47 ERA in his last two starts giving up 30 hits in his last 17 innings and he is 2-7 with a 6.51 ERA on the road this season. Hector Santiago (10-6, 4.47)has lost two starts since coming over form the Angels but is 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA against Kansas City who is 20-39 on the road. Take MINNESOTA!
