The upstart Marlins are also playing good baseball and are off a three-game sweep of the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Pitching has been the key for the Royals allowing just nine runs in their last seven games with Yordano Ventura (8-9, 4.46 ERA) going 2-0 with a 2.52 ERA over his last four starts but, he is 0-2 against the NL this season and is 3-5 with a 4.57 ERA in 11 interleague games. Andrew Cashner (4-9, 4.92) is winless in five starts for the Marlins and is looking for his first win since coming over from San Diego three weeks ago. Tonight he gets his first victory in Miami.
