Mets over Giants- When Francisco Lindor was placed on the IL six weeks ago the Mets were in first place leading the Phillies and Braves by 3-games but over the past six weeks they have dropped faster than Biden's approval ratings. Today, the Mets trail Atlanta by 6.5 games as they have lost 9-of-11 against the Giants and Dodgers and are 6-16 in August as Lindor returned Tuesday going 0-4. New York will start Taijuan Walker (7-8, 3.86 ERA) who is 0-5 with a 7.49 ERA, with opponents averaging .284 while allowing 11 home runs. Walker is 3-2 with a 3.82 era in six appearances against the Giants who will start Johnny Cueto (7-6, 3.89) who is 4-4 with a 3.53 lifetime against the Mets. Although the number are ugly New York is 4-1 when favored in last five and are 25-12 at home. Take the METS!
