VCU finished the season strong doing 12-1 their last 13 games. Virginia Commonwealth guard Marcus Evans practiced Thursday, and coach Mike Rhoades said he expected his leading scorer to play in the Rams' first-round NCAA tournament game Friday against Central Florida. He averages 14 ppg. Central Florida has a guy who's 7-6 in Tacko Fall so look for VCU to push the tempo and press on defense to keep the big fellow in check. The VCU Rams are a veteran group that plays ugly and likes to grind things out in the half court. VCU had a lot of success this season standing 25-7 overall and the Rams won the A-10 regular season title with a mark of 16-2. VCU tested themselves against a very challenging nonconference slate and I love them here on Friday night!
