Last season, the expansion Golden Knights continued their historic run to the Stanley Cup Final with a 4-2 series win in the West Semifinals against the Sharks. This year, both teams limped to the finish line with Vegas losing 7 of their last 8 games, mostly without future HOF goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. The 3 time Stanley Cup champion will be in net for this series opener against a San Jose club that has lost 9 of their last 12 games and are going to roll between the pipes Martin Jones, who doesn't not look sharp or confident down the stretch. With 3 days off I look for the defense and goalies to come out strong and this one to stay UNDER the total. If Vegas wants to win this series its going to have to step up on defense.
