(NCAAF) Utah vs. Texas,
Point Spread: -7.00 | -110.00 Utah (Away)
Result: Loss
The Tom Herman as an Underdog Principle is dead this year. Texas is 0-5 straight up as a dog this season and only 2-3 ATS. Utah, meanwhile, is 11-2 straight up in bowl games under Kyle Whittingham and 9-4 ATS. They are one of the best defensive teams in the country and coming off their worst game of the season. They're also a much better team than they looked like against Oregon, and the Ducks are a much better squad than this Texas team. The Utes will have an edge in physicality, and Utah averaged 235.5 passing yards per game and is poised to have a big game against Texas' secondary, which gave up 306.4 passing yards per game. The Longhorns also struggled against the run and gave up 139.8 rushing yards per game. With the Utes playing significantly better than the Longhorns on both sides of the ball, expect them to put Texas away quickly.
