(NCAAF) Michigan State vs. Rutgers,
Point Spread: 5.50 | -109.00 Michigan State (Away)
Result: Win
Michigan State is 2-3 overall this season and the team is playing hard for their new head coach. In their last game, the Spartans lost 26-16 to the Hawkeyes and now Michigan State is coming off of their BYE week with 2 weeks to prep for this one. Starting quarterback Noah Kim threw for 193 yards on 25-for-44 passing. He tossed three interceptions as there was a bit of a quarterback battle over the bye week for the starting spot. Kim, junior, has been the starter all season long, but interim head coach Harlon Barnett shared that he will not name a starter for the game until kickoff. Michigan St actually outgained their last 2 opponents in yardage but 9 turnovers really hurt. Rutgers is still a still a one dimensional offense, and not a very good one at that ranking 80th in yards per play, 83rd in success rate, and for as well as this defense has played they rank 120th in rushing success rate defense with garbage time taken out. This is one of Michigan State's last winnable games on their schedule and I like their chances on Saturday in this early kickoff plus the pts.
