I feel like I have a strong beat on this CAA conference so let’s head back to the CAA for Second Round action when the #7 seed Stony Brook Seawolves take on the #10 seed Northeastern Huskies at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington D.C.
Stony Brook won the first two meetings, I understand it’s tough to beat a team three times and Sakota didn’t play in the first two but I keep coming back to how effective Sakota will be if he does end up playing here. I’m hearing Sakota hasn’t practiced at all and is set to have hip surgery as soon as the season is over so you have to wonder if it’s even worth it for Northeastern to play him here. Another thing that needs to be taken into consideration is the fact Northeastern would need to win this tournament to keep playing, if Sakota plays today there’s a good chance he’s unable to play on Sunday so Northeastern might try to steal this one without him so he’s fresh enough to give them a chance against what will probably be Drexel in the next round.
Stony Brook rarely turns the ball over, just 9.6 on average per game, and overall the better and healthier team as we are backing them on Saturday night.
