The Phillies are 12-8 versus the West and Hernandez had the type of first half that may be expected of a No. 5 starter. He pitched OK but consistently had problems pitching past the 6th inning. That is something that needs to improve in the second half and I expect him to do better here at home. Giants starter Petit was named to start against the Phillies in place of Matt Cain who has gone on the disabled list three times this season. Petit is 1-2 with a deadful 5.81 ERA in five starts. Lets back the Phillies here at home on Tuesday night.
