A huge key to picking preseason NFL games is understanding the motivation of the teams and coaches involved. Winning in the preseason is as much or more about want-to than can-do. Bad teams will win in the preseason more than they should and beat teams they never will in the regular season because the coach is more focused on winning than the established coach of the winning team they are facing. The undisputed champ of preseason is John Harbaugh. He is a ridiculous 40-12 in preseason games. They are currently riding a 20-game winning streak in the preseason. The Ravens boast a deep and talented defense where even the second and third groups could pose a challenge for opposing offenses. The team they are facing, The Titans are not a prolific offense and likely will not utilize their main weapon, Derrick Henry. With the best receivers on the team being new and one coming off an ACL tear at the age of 30 they probably won’t play either. Add to that a record of 4-7 in the preseason for coach Mike Vrabel and I think it is a near lock that Baltimore wins this game.
