7-Unit Play. Take #965 Tampa Bay over Baltimore (7 p.m., Friday, June 30) I like the Rays in this one and I think that they are going to win big. Baltimore is going with Chris Tillman. Tillman has been dealing with shoulder issues this year. He has been terrible this season. Tillman has made 10 starts. He is just 1-5 with an 8.39 ERA. Tillman faced the Rays on Sunday and Tampa Bay beat him up for five runs in just four innings in a 8-5 win for Tampa. I think they will do the same thing here on the road. Tillman has allowed at least five runs in six straight starts and all five of his starts this month. He has an 11.62 ERA in those starts! Tampa Bay is going with young Jacob Faria. The rookie has been excellent. He just posted a quality start against the Orioles last Saturday and he has posted a quality start in all four of his starts. Faria has a 2.10 ERA with 29 strikeouts and just five walks. Tampa Bay has been playing better than the Orioles over the last few weeks. I think that will continue here. The Orioles are 2-5 in Tillman's last seven starts and 3-7 in his last 10 home starts. I like Tampa Bay to beat him up again. Play the Rays.
