After seeing Chicago blow a 3-0 lead in Friday’s second game of the set to lose 4-3 in 10 innings, followed by blowing a pair of one-run leads Saturday in a 4-2 loss, you have to wonder if Chicago threw their best punches in the series. After all, Saturday saw them throw Marcus Stroman while the expectation is that Drew Smyly is slated to throw in Sunday’s finale. Both guys have been on the shelf for an extended period and one has to think that they’ll be on limited pitch counts before what would be their final start before the All-Star break later this week. That puts a ton of pressure on a Chicago bullpen that has struggled, including David Robertson, who wilted Monday against the Brewers and then Friday against Los Angeles. Julio Urias has won four straight starts and should be a lot better than the 7-6 mark he’s posted this season. He has six starts where he’s allowed two runs or less that have resulted in three losses and three no-decisions. With the lineup and depth the Dodgers have to work with offensively, you have to give them the advantage over a young Cubs team that has shaky pitching.
