The Crosstown Rivalry lived up to expectations as the Chicago White Sox held on to an 8-6 win over the Cubs. They led 3-1 going into the bottom of the eighth and gave up four straight hits including a three-run homer. It was only the second time in his career and the first time in a decade he allowed four hits in an inning. The Sox scored four in the tenth only to see Chicago score two in the bottom half. Lance Lynn pitched well enough for a win, allowing just one run on four hits with eight strikeouts in six innings. Carlos Rodon gets the start today for the Sox. He is 8-5 with a 2.49 ERA and 149 strikeouts this season. The Cubs got a strong outing from Kyle Hendricks as he allowed two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in six innings. They will look to even the series by sending Adbert Alzolay to the mound. He is 4-11 with a 4.85 ERA and 99 strikeouts this season.

The White Sox should be able to put up some runs early as Alzolay has consistently allowed teams to get to him early. The Sox have one of the better lineups in baseball and is facing a team that has traded away most of their best players. Rodon has had velocity issues as of late but will have had 10 days rest and is acing a lineup that is not as daunting as Cubs teams in the past. Take the Sox on the run-line for better value.
