The Virginia Cavaliers take on the Miami Hurricanes in ACC action. Both teams come into this contest with 2-2 records.
The Virginia offense is led by Brennan Armstrong with 1,705 passing yards, to go with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions. As a team, the Cavaliers are rushing for 114.8 yards a game and are led by Wayne Taulapapa with 81 yards and one touchdown. The receiving corps is led by Dontayvion Wicks and Billy Kemp IV, who have combined to catch passes for 741 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, they are giving up 27.5 points and 423 yards a game. The Cavaliers have not played well away from home and are riding a five-game road losing streak.
The Miami Hurricanes offense is led by D’Eriq King with 767 passing yards to go with three touchdowns and four interceptions. As a team, the Hurricanes rush for 159 yards a game and are led by Cam’Ron Harris with 272 yards and three touchdowns. The receiving corps is led by Charleston Rambo and Key’Shawn Smith, who have combined to catch passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side, they are giving up 26.3 points and 369.8 yards a game. Miami has won six of their last eight games
The Cavaliers are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Hurricanes are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Miami and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meetings. Virginia is the top passing team in college football and eighth in total offense. Virginia is 113th in run defense and 101st in total defense. I have not been impressed with D'Erik King this year and the Hurricanes have not looked good when playing FBS caliber schools. Michigan State had big plays in their passing game against the Hurricanes and I expect Virginia to have the same. As bad as Virginia's defense is you can't say Miami's defense is that much better. I am taking the points in this one.
Play on Virginia.
