The Red Sox are coming into this game not playing very well in their recent games. They were very hot out of the break but now they have lost their last 3 straight games and their recent confidence along with it. Their pitching has not been good all season as their offense has been carrying them in a lot of their games, but even their offense has been cooling off now as they have only scored 3 runs or less in each of their last 4 straight games. They are going up against a Mariners team that has been heating up recently as they have won 5 of their last 6 games and their offense has also been heating up in these games as they have scored at least 5 runs in 4 of their last 6 games. Brayan Bello is starting for the Red Sox here and he is 7-6 with a 3.66 ERA this season. He has not been awful this year but recently he has been allowing a lot of runs in his starts as he has allowed at least 3 earned runs in each of his last 3 starts, including his last road start where he allowed 6 earned runs in 4 innings against the A's who are the worst team and have the worst offense in the MLB. He has definitely been struggling more recently and the Mariners offense is going to find ways to score runs on him now that they are heating up, but with the Red Sox offense going cold now he is not going to get a lot of run support. Bryce Miller is starting for the Mariners here and he is 7-3 with a 3.96 ERA this season. He is coming off of an awful start in his last one as he allowed 6 earned runs on the road against the Twins but he has not allowed nearly that many runs in most of his starts this season and he is also going to be hungry to have a much better start here at home. He has actually been a much better starter at home this season as well as he has allowed just 2 earned runs or less in his last 5 straight as well as 7 of his 8 home starts this season, allowing just 1 earned run or less in 4 of his last 5 as well as 6 of his 8 home starts. He has been a stud at home all year and he is going to have no trouble bouncing back in this home start with the Red Sox offense going cold now as well. The Mariners are going to continue rolling here and they will win this game at home.
