The Yankees are coming into this game with a 2-1 series lead and they are going to be hungry to bounce back from yesterday as they had many chances to win that game and take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. They still scored 5 runs in that loss and their offense has been on fire in this series as they have scored at least 5 runs in all 3 games. Their pitching has also been very good in the other 2 games and the Guardians are the worst offensive team left in the playoffs. Gavin Williams is starting for the Guardians in this game and he is 3-10 with a 4.86 ERA this season. He has not made a start in the playoffs this season and a big reason for that is because the Guardians went 4-12 in the 16 regular season games he started in, but this is also going to be his 1st career playoff start as well. He was not bad in his last 2 starts, but he has been consistently allowing runs in his starts all season and also allowed 3 earned runs in 4 innings against the Yankees earlier this season, his only start against them this year. The Yankees have been hot and they will score runs in this game with the way Williams has been pitching. The Guardians do have one of the better bullpens in the league, but it has not stopped the Yankees from tacking on late runs in this series. Luis Gil is starting for the Yankees in this game and he is 15-7 with a 3.50 ERA this season. He is also making his 1st career playoff start but he has been the much better pitcher all season. He was not great in his last 2 starts to end the regular season, but prior to that he allowed just 1 earned run or less in 3 straight starts and has been a lot more consistent all year. The Yankees also have a very good bullpen themselves to back him up here. The Yankees are going to win this game and take a 3-1 series lead here.
