The good news for the Magic is they were able to hold Brown and Tatum to 14-for-36 and 1-for-10 from deep. The bad news is that since the Celtics made more threes than any team in NBA history, they have plenty of guys who can knock them down. Payton Pritchard and Derrick White combined to hit 11 of Boston's 16 3-pointers and helped turn a one-point halftime deficit into an 11-point lead entering the fourth quarter before ultimately winning by 17. I expect Brown and Tatum to be better and the team to shoot better than the 45% they shot in Game 1. We talked last time about how, despite giving up the fewest points in the league, the Magic’s 3-point defense is pretty pedestrian. Orlando, which ranked 28th in scoring, just doesn’t have the firepower to keep up.
