The San Diego Chargers will host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, and we'll see a pair of gunslingers exchange blows in a West Coast showdown. Phillip Rivers leads the league in passing yards, and he's coming off a spectacular performance on the road at Green Bay. Derek Carr is looking sharp for the Raiders, and he should find plenty of holes in this Chargers defense. My money is on the over in this one.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. San Diego Defense - Statistically it looks like San Diego has done a good job against the pass this year, but I think they are still vulnerable to an air attack. They ranked 29th overall against the pass last season, and Josh McCown of the Cleveland Browns lit them up for 356 yards and a pair of TDs just a couple of weeks ago.
2. Injuries - The Raiders come in with a depleted defensive line, with starting defensive tackle Justin Ellis likely to miss his fourth game this season with an ankle injury. Backup Denico Autry is out for the second straight game with a concussion, and Justin Tuck is done for the year with a torn pectoral muscle.
3. X-Factor - The Over is 7-1-1 in Raiders last 9 vs. a team with a losing record.
Selection: This is a play on the Raiders@Chargers to go over the total (10*)
