Two struggling teams will take the ice at Gila River Arena Thursday night as the Columbus Blue Jackets are coming to Arizona to take on the Coyotes. I think we'll see a tight low-scoring game between two teams desperate for a win.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Goal-scoring Issues - The Coyotes have one win over their last seven games and had totaled only 11 regulation goals over six games prior to Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss against the Canes. The Blue Jackets have 10 goals over their last five games, all defeats, and just one single tally in each of their last two.
2. Situational - The Blue Jackets were blown out in a 5-1 defeat to the Stars Tuesday, but they're usually good at tightening up the defense after a subpar display. Each of their last four following a loss of three or more goals have gone under the total and the under is 6-2-1 in their last nine after scoring two goals or fewer in their previous game.
3. X-Factor - Columbus is only 4-for-36 on the power play over its last 15 games.
