Rogers' NHL SURE SHOT >> Had Blackhawks Sunday! 9-3-2 NHL ROLL!
(NHL) Dallas vs. Los Angeles,
Money Line: -156.00 Los Angeles (Home)
Result: Loss
The set-up: The 16-16-8 Dallas Stars will be in Staples Center Monday night to take on the 20-16-4 Los Angeles Kings.

Dallas: The Stars are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games, primarily because of a lack of offense. The Stars are ranked 19th in goals per game this season (2.58 per), after finishing with the second-ranked offense last season. A decline in power play execution (dropping to 17.6 percent from 22.1 percent) is a major factor. Dallas has alos fallen close to the basement in the NHL on the penalty kill thanks to its recent struggles. The club is just 2-for-8 over the last three games, allowing two power-play goals in each contest, and ranks just ahead of last-place Buffalo (74.3) with a 75.2 percent overall success rate.

Los Angeles: The Kings have managed to stay afloat in the competitive Western Conference despite the team's 8-11-3 road record, by going 12-5-1 here at Staples Center. This is the third contest of LA's seven-game homestand and after opening with a 4-0 loss to the Red Wings on Thursday, the Kings won 4-3 over the Wild on Saturday, in OT.

The pick: Los Angeles is 8-1 in overtime this season and 20-4 since three-on-three play was implemented at the start of last season. However, it's unlikely the Kings will need OT here, as the Stars limp in having lost eight of their last 10 road games (2-6-2). Make the Kings an 8* play.
