The set-up: Montreal opened up the second half with a listless 4-2 home loss vs. the Capitals on Monday night. Now it faces an equally as hungry Buffalo team which also came out flat by falling 5-2 at home to the lowly Senators on Tuesday. These two teams have not lived up to expectations whatsoever this season and each needs to make a move now, or they'll once again be on the outside of the playoffs looking in. From a situational stand point, I think this one definitely sets up as a lower-scoring "under," as I expect each to risk life and limb getting into shooting and passing lanes to try and pull out a victory.

The pick: Note as well that the Habs have seen the total dip under the number in seven of their last 11 Eastern Conference road games after losing by two goals or more in their previous outing, while Buffalo has seen the total go under in eight of its last 12 home games after a loss by three goals or more in its previous outing and in which it allowed five or more goals in. I think this one sneaks under the number once it's all said and done.
