The set-up: The Spurs are 22-28 and the Blazers are 23-28. I think it's safe to say that neither team can feel very happy where it sits right now. Each is dealing with chemistry issues, along with injury issues and other off-court issues. All of these factors has contributed to these once power house Western Conference teams falling off dramatically this season. SA has reportedly been looking for offers for top plays LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan. San Antonio won't be lacking for motivation here after a blowout loss to the Lakers. Portland is on the outside of the playoff picture looking in as well and it also comes in off a blowout loss to the Nuggets. Situationally I absolutely believe that this one sets up as more of a defensive affair, as each team doubles down to try and earn this victory here.

The pick: Note as well that The Spurs have seen the total go under the number in five of their last six after a loss by ten points or more, while the Blazers have seen the total dip under in ten of their last 16 off a road loss. This one has "war" written all over it. Play the under.
