The set-up: Two "hungry" teams collide on Thursday night and when the smoke does finally clear, I look for this total to fly well above the posted number. While their first matchup went "under" in the Rangers 3-2 win, I am definitely expecting a more wide open affair this time around.

The pick: Note that the Rangers have seen the total go over the number in 12 of their last 19 following a non-conference game, while Minnesota has seen the total fly over the number in eight of 12 this season after a win by two goals or more. I think the visitors push the pace from start to finish in an attempt to get the Wild out of their "comfort zone." This number is low.
