The set-up: What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think about these two teams? For me it's high-flying offense and high-scoring games. While each team has played to many "overs" of late, I think the conditions are now finally correct for more of a defensive goaltenders battle. Philadelphia averages 3.31 GPG and it allows 2.85, while Washington averages 3.42 GPG and it allows 3.03.
The pick: Note though that Philly has already seen the total go under the number in ten of 16 this year when playing with two days rest, while Washington has seen the total dip below in eight of 13 this season in trying to revenge a home loss vs. an opponent. I think the value has finally swung to the lower number here.
