The set-up: It's Week 2 of the MAC (in a six-game season) and both of these team's come in off losses. Both defenses looked suspect in Week 1 and I think each will struggle in Week 2 as well. EMU fell 27-23 to Kent State, with quarterback Preston Hutchinson throwing for 241 yards, two TD's and two INT's. Keep your eyes on Hassan Beydoun as well for the visiting side, he had nine catches for 112 yards in last week's loss. Also keep in mind that EMU has seen the total fly "over" in six of its last seven on the road.

The pick: Ball State has seen the total go "over" in seven of its last eight at home. Drew Pitt and the Cardinals look to bounce back from last week's tight 38-31 loss to Miami Ohio. Ball State's offense is its strength, so expect Pitt to be given the "green light" from start to finish. Finally note that the last five in the series between these clubs on this field have all flown "over" the number as well. Consider the "over" in this one.
