Sitting seven games out of a playoff spot the Giants' postseason hopes are fading, but not done. If there's any hope left for San Francisco this season they have to win games like this. On the mound, we have a huge mismatch with Logan Webb starting against rookie Adrian Martinez, who is not a big league caliber starter. Martinez has posted a 6.52 ERA in four starts with the A's this season, and was 4-6 with a 5.54 ERA in AAA.
The Giants have lost Webb's last three starts, but two of those starts were against the Dodgers. Webb has been consistent over the past two seasons, and should bounce back here strong. The A's are just 18-33 against the runline at home this season, and I don't see them keeping up.
