Padres over Giants- Why would anyone ‘play’ on San Diego the after the way they take the field with no urgency at all having lost their last four games. The Giants on the other have reached double-digits with their current win streak now looking for their eleventh straight victory. Well, if you think San Fran is hot check out the Padres starter Blake Snell (3-6, 3.48 ERA) who was infamously removed from a post season game having surrendered only one hit at the time and has not been the same since then. But right now Snell is the hottest pitcher in baseball having surrendered just 10 hits in his last four starts fanning 39 in just 25 innings (now that is Bob Gibson stuff). He is 3-1 with a 2.51 career ERA against the Giants while Alex Wood (2-1, 4.11) the Frisco starter is 6-4 with a 3.14 lifetime ERA against the Padres. Despite the possible 4-game sweep for the Giants San Diego is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings overall and 6-2 at SF. Take SAN DIEGO!
