(NCAAF) LSU vs. Texas,
Point Spread: 7.00 | -116.00 Texas (Home)
Result: Push
If Texas can keep their 5.1 YPC running game pushing - they can go from a good team to a great team, which is what Coach Tom Herman wants, after their miserable 3.77 YPC last season. The Texas defense can stop LSU on early downs, with their LB corps - and Joseph Ossai can cause a lot of contact for the Longhorns, and has active hands. The No. 9 Texas Longhorns jumped out to a 24-0 lead at halftime against Louisiana Tech and also won the second half despite resting starters. QB Sam Ehlinger had four touchdowns but coach Tom Herman was still not pleased. "We were rusty," Herman told reporters. "Sam missing throws; dropped the ball; we had six penalties. You know, that happens in first games. But I thought we started really, really fast, and that's what helped us overcome some of those miscues." Tom Herman has only been a head coach since 2015, but there's been an inescapable trend in that short time. His teams have been underdogs 16 times, and they've gone 13-2-1 ATS in those games. Five of them have come at home, where they've gone 4-0-1 ATS. Lets back Texas as the home underdog here on Saturday night.
