The Anaheim Ducks have picked up pace after a miserable start to the season and are coming off a pair of wins against San Jose and Pittsburgh. They'll host the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night, and I like the Ducks to make it a third consecutive win.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Canes Defense - Carolina has lost four of its last six with a total of 25 goals conceded. Its defense was extremely poor in a 6-5 defeat to the Stars Tuesday, and that won't cut it here against a Ducks team that has not given away any easy goals of late.
2. Home Cookin' - The Ducks have won four of their last five at home with just a total of eight regulation goals conceded and two shutouts in that span. The Canes have lost four straight at the Duck Pond.
3. X-Factor - Anaheim's Corey Perry has three goals in his last four games.
